collaborative editing to amplify your voice

Style & Genre

You’ve poured your time and energy into your manuscript. In some sense, it is a part of you, so you want to be sure that it archives its full potential. That’s where I come in. My job as your editor is to help you polish your manuscript so that it shines its brightest, and to help you grow as an author for future projects. To encourage you to strengthen your voice and ensure you’re proud of what you’ve achieved.

My editing style is largely collaborative, making heavy use of questions to prompt you to address issues and help you improve your writing. When applicable, I will suggest alternate phrasing, but generally prefer to encourage you to tackle edits in your own voice and style.

Depending on your preference, I work in Word, GoogleDocs, or Ellipsus. Each program has its own merits, and I’m happy to use whichever you prefer, but the process is slightly different in each. Please reach out if you have specific questions.

While I am a huge fan of speculative fiction—particularly low fantasy, magical realism, and dystopian sci-fi—I edit most genres (exceptions below) written for adult and young adult audiences.

  • Fantasy, all subgenres
    • I am particularly drawn to fantasies set in worlds not of the typical Western European based pseudo-medieval variety
  • Science Fiction
  • Romance of most spice levels
  • Historical Fiction
  • Stories that feature body horror or body modification used for shock value
    • Gender affirming modifications are fine
  • Stalker stories, including very dark romances
  • Solidly non-con content, even in the scope of dark romances
  • Erotica: works in which the spice is the main focus of the story
  • Works glorifying war, violence, genocide, sexual assault, and/or domestice violence
  • Works glorifying prejudice of any kind, including racism, homophobia, and/or violence against marginalized communities
  • Works glorifying Nazism or white supremacy in any capacity
  • Works that include animal abuse
  • Works written with the assistance of AI

Please note this is not an exhaustive list. I reserve the right to decline projects for any reason.

When submitting your sample, please include a list of Content and Trigger Warnings, without regard for spoilers. If you need to review a list of standard content needing such warnings, you can find a list here.

Additionally, while the following content will not prevent me from taking your project on, I need to be informed if your manuscript contains any of the following content:

  • Disordered eating of any kind (including references to past), and on-page body dysmorphia
  • Heavy, on-page depictions of gender dysphoria
  • On-page physical infidelity (emotional infidelity is fine)
  • Content related to pregnancy and birth, including discussions of abortions
